After many months of writing, reviewing, searching, and interviewing, the Associate Pastor Search Committee have come to understand that God was asking us to patiently wait until Jayme Babczak was ready for us.

We would now like to introduce her to you.

Jayme hails from Shillington, Pennsylvania, located about halfway between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. She attended Messiah College on a Softball scholarship, graduating in 2016. From there she headed to Richmond Virginia where she is finishing her degrees of Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education at Union Presbyterian Seminary. She is currently involved in "One Tree, Many Branches Interfaith Program" in Richmond and is Director of Children and Youth Ministry at the Seventh Street Christian Church in Richmond VA.

Some of what Jayme says about herself in her profile is - "I am passionate about intergenerational congregations that seek to be the love and hope of Christ in the world....I am also passionate about reaching beyond the church walls to build community. ...My passion lies in blurring the lines between the sacred and the secular and emboldening all generations to live as the Church in the world. The seats on the public bus are our pews. The local river is our baptismal font. The coffee shop houses our table. The entire cosmos is our church."

There was an instant connection and internal knowledge that here was the person God wanted for us; the person who would help us grow as she grew herself. We are exceedingly grateful that she got the same message from God and feels as called to us as we are to her!

Jayme brings a passion for Christian Education and a desire to find connection and relationship both in and outside of the Church building. She is thoughtful, bright, sincere, and enthusiastic and we can't wait for all of you to meet her too. She comes to us with a dog, an overflowing bag of new ideas and the wholehearted recommendation of the Search Committee.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing video clips of Jayme via email and social media.  If you would like a DVD of all of the video clips that will be shared, contact the office by phone or email and we will send you one.

In addition, the search committee is hosting a series of Zoom meetings for people to meet Jayme.  Meetings will be limited to 10 members at a time to give people a chance to chat.  Because of the limit on participants, we ask that you sign-up for the Zoom meeting.  You can either do this on our website or by calling the office.
