 NYA Looking for Host Families
NYA has about 15 international students that do home stays. Currently we have students from China, Austria, Germany, and Canada. We are looking to grow that population to about 25 students over the next couple of years. We are seeking potential host families. Host families take on the role as surrogate parents during the child’s stay. These are really great kids and this can be a rewarding cultural experience for families, whether they currently have children of their own in the home or not. It is a commitment only  for a year, but ideally families stay with the students over their high school careers. A monthly stipend is provided to host families as well. For more information contact the church office.

Maine Cancer Foundation Twilight 5K Walk and Run!
Join the TLC Strong team and help support the Maine Cancer Foundation on June 6th at 7:00 pm for the Twilight 5K Walk at SMCC.
MCF provides early detection, education, and transportation services, and many other areas of outreach to people battling all forms of cancer throughout Maine.  This fundraiser is an important part of their annual budget and is projected to raise $130K.

Last year on race day I was one week out from an exhausting 12 week chemotherapy course but with the help of Paul, Shawn Edgecomb and the encouragement of the many participants, I walked the entire course.  This year we want to celebrate one year of survivorship!   Please consider joining us and several other FPC friends and supporters for a sunset walk, some Otto’s pizza and a little dance music.

This is our team link:TLC Strong  to register or donate.  For more information contact Mary Stuart at 207-776-1201.
