There are several opportunities available to serve on church committees, including one open position on Trustees and 3-4 open positions on Deacons. Joining either of these groups is a great way to increase involvement in the church (the time commitments are not onerous), get to know your fellow parishioners even better and have a good time. If people are interested in serving on either of those committees they should contact Sue Inches at [email protected] for additional information on responsibilities and terms for Trustees, and Art Bell at [email protected] for additional information on Deacons.

Furniture Friends is looking for a team of 6-10 high-school aged able bodied youth and/or adults to help load a truck with furniture from a hotel in the Old Port from 1-4pm on June 16, 23, and/or 30. Contact Elise Moody-Roberts at [email protected] to volunteer.

Clam Festival Book Drop – Please leave books at the back door of the church boxed or bagged (no loose books please) on the pallets where you see the sign. Please only drop off books in good condition. No mold or musty smelling books or hard covers with broken spines. We do not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, diet books, or books about parenting, health or self -help as they do not sell. The book drop will close on July 10.

Pie Booth – It’s not to soon to start thinking about baking pies for the Clam Festival! Last year, we found that limiting the number of TYPES of pies to about 15 types worked quite well. We hope to need about 500 pies over the weekend. Pies can be made up to 6 weeks ahead of time and frozen. Please remember to let your pies COOL completely. They should then be wrapped in plastic wrap and then aluminum foil as well. Freezers in the Undercroft will be available the beginning of June. Please label the type of pie. Sometimes it is difficult to tell what kind they are. We ask that you limit your pies to the following: Apple | Blueberry | Strawberry Rhubarb | Toll House | Peach | Key Lime | Chocolate Cream | Peach Blueberry | Raspberry| Custard | Cherry | Pecan | Lemon Meringue | Pumpkin | Brownie

We truly appreciate all the time, effort and cost that goes into all the pies that are made every year and hope that you will continue to contribute to what some people consider the “Best Food Booth at the Festival”!

The Pink Elephant -The gray tent is now set up in the back of the church off Storer Street to accept items. We accept furniture, household and kitchen items, sports equipment, toys, games, crafts, appliances, etc. Remember all appliances should be in working order. WE DO NOT ACCEPT any clothes (except hats, belts, and shoes) and NO computer equipment of any sort. We also need more helpers to sort and price (no experience necessary) and any amount of time is appreciated since several of our longtime sorters are unable to help this year. The Pink Elephant brings in a substantial part of the Clam Festival proceeds for the church and we really need people to step up if this is to continue.
