Today we celebrate Pentecost, the story of the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit after Jesus died. Pentecost is sometimes referred to as the birthday of the church. In the first chapter of Acts, the resurrected Jesus promises the disciples that the Holy Spirit will come and empower them to witness to God’s work in the world.
2000 years later we are still empowered by that same spirit. May your time here this morning fill you with inspiration and strengthen your soul to continue the work the disciples started so long ago. Welcome to worship!
