News from the Building Committee
So much progress has been made in the last few weeks, it is mind spinning!
Warren Construction is working feverishly to have our classroom space
and new offices complete by the middle of September, officially concluding Phase One of our Building Project.
As of this writing, the painters have applied a first coat of paint to all of the
spaces and they will soon begin the final coat. The electricians
have begun installing the light fixtures, and the contractors have installed the cabinetry in each of the classrooms and in the
main office. The flooring is due to be installed the last
week of August and the new bathrooms on the second floor soon will be operational.
Outside, the lawn has been seeded and we are anxiously awaiting the first sprouts of
green grass. Out back on Storer Street, we have already begun
to appreciate the convenience of the new parking spots. The new front entrance is looking beautiful, as the contractor completes
the final details to the doors and floors. We hope you agree
that the new entrance and the star window above makes for a curb appeal that takes your breath away.
Kent, Carra, Carole, and Claire have already begun to pack up again in anticipation
for their move into the new offices. Once they "evacuate",
Warren Construction will begin Phase Two, which will include renovations to Fellowship Hall, the kitchen, and the basement
level. Fellowship Hall will be closed off, as it will be an official
construction site, which means we will gather for fellowship after Sunday worship outside when weather permits. It is important
that we all continue to be flexible and accommodating during the
next phase of construction.
There are still so many important decisions that are made on a daily basis. The building committee continues to ask for
your support and prayers as we push forward to complete our "Church
for all Generations."
